Larry Ruhl will read from and discuss his new memoir Breaking the Ruhls (Central Recovery Press, February 2018), which details his coming to terms with complex childhood trauma: paternal incest and maternal mental illness, which led to depression, addiction, and difficulty accepting his homosexuality. It’s a searing story and a poignant narrative of healing and recovery, one that breaks through many deeply held societal taboos.
Larry Ruhl will be one of three writer panelists at The Donahue Interview.
Each year, the Woodstock Bookfest is honored to have WAMC’s Joe Donahue host one of our most popular events, The Donahue Interview.
This year, Joe hosts a panel of writers who live and work in the Hudson Valley, but reach readers all over the world with their work. Their three books recount stories of secrets woven through lives, and the damage — and recovery — that can result.
